Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning

While we are not tax attorneys, The Scanlin Law Firm, PC. can help you with preparation in anticipation of a time when you will no longer be here on earth with your loved ones.
Wills enable an individual to give his or her personal possessions or property to the individuals or entities of his or her choosing. Without this document setting forth your own wishes, your loved ones may resort to fighting over what they want from the property you leave behind.
Additional documents such as a Georgia Advanced Directive for Healthcare and a Financial Power of Attorney are documents that the Scanlin Law Firm, PC. recommends everyone 18 and over possess, no matter their marital status. These documents provide for your wishes during your last illness, when you can no longer communicate those wishes yourself and allow an agent to control, monitor and access your financials when you are no longer able to competently handle them, for whatever reason.
